MATCA Data Team

About Us

"Deepening the symbiotic relationship between Data and Science to promote scientific discovery."

Our Structure

We are proud to be a part of the National Center of Competence (NCC) for MATCA (Materials, Advanced Technologies, Coatings, and their Applications), under the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. This collaborative initiative brings together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions to solve critical scientific and technological challenges. As a data-focused team within this ecosystem, we bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights, ensuring that scientific discovery and innovation are underpinned by robust, data-driven methodologies. Our goal is to build a foundation of trust and excellence, one that fuels technological progress and promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Our Team

Our team is made up of passionate individuals with diverse expertise in materials science, computer science, and data analytics. Veronika, a PhD candidate specializing in materials science, plays a pivotal role in identifying the pressing scientific problems that guide our work. Her insights ensure that our projects are grounded in real-world challenges. Martin, a professor of computer science, is our advisor and mentor. He helps us navigate complex problems with thoughtful strategies, ensuring that our solutions are not only effective but also scalable. Supporting this effort are Ondrej and Tomas, two dedicated bachelor students who bring energy and innovation to the table. They focus on implementing machine learning algorithms and leveraging traditional statistical methods to transform data into meaningful results.
